Located atop a bluff overlooking the Brazos River in Somervell County, Texas, Lavender Bluff is envisioned as an agritourism destination where architecture, agriculture, and hospitality come together within the Texas landscape. The campus brings together guest accommodations, wellness spaces, artist studios, equestrian facilities, lavender production, and gathering pavilions to create a place where visitors can experience the ranch through exploration, recreation, and seasonal events. Rather than a single destination, Lavender Bluff unfolds as a collection of simple buildings connected by walking paths, covered outdoor spaces, and expansive views across the river valley.
A Destination to Explore
The master plan encourages visitors to move through the landscape, discovering a variety of experiences along the way. Guest casitas, artist studios, wellness spaces, and gathering pavilions are carefully positioned to create a walkable campus where architecture frames the surrounding ranch rather than competing with it. Covered porches, outdoor gathering areas, and open lawns invite visitors to linger while enjoying the changing character of the site.
Rooted in Agriculture
Working agriculture remains central to the identity of Lavender Bluff. Lavender fields become both a productive landscape and a public destination, supporting seasonal harvesting, educational experiences, and a small distillery that celebrates the agricultural heritage of the property. Together, these elements create a destination where visitors can experience the complete journey from cultivation to finished product while remaining immersed in the landscape.
Gathering on the Bluff
Lavender Bluff is designed as a place to bring people together. Event pavilions, outdoor gathering spaces, and flexible venues support weddings, community celebrations, workshops, and seasonal festivals overlooking the Brazos River valley. Throughout the campus, architecture provides a simple backdrop for shared experiences, allowing the landscape itself to become the defining feature of every gathering.
