Overview
Marfa Air is a custom steel shade pavilion designed as a weekend retreat for a couple and their Airstream in the high desert of West Texas. Conceived as an extension of outdoor living, the open-air structure provides shelter from the desert sun while creating flexible spaces for cooking, dining, relaxing, and gathering. A simple palette of weathering steel and natural materials allows the pavilion to age gracefully alongside the landscape, while its open form frames expansive views and encourages a constant connection to the surrounding environment. Rather than serving as a destination itself, Marfa Air creates the setting for a slower pace of life—one defined by quiet mornings, long evenings, and the enduring beauty of the Texas desert.
