The Brook is a private cottage retreat located within a secluded neighborhood adjacent to Rough Creek Lodge & Resort in North Texas. Though modest in scale, the home was thoughtfully designed to maximize its connection to the outdoors through expansive sliding glass doors, generous roof overhangs, and carefully framed views of the surrounding landscape. Native stone extends seamlessly from the exterior into the interior, creating a cohesive architectural language rooted in warmth, durability, and craftsmanship.
At the heart of the home, a screened porch anchored by a substantial masonry fireplace serves as a year-round gathering space, extending the home's living spaces into the landscape. Simple forms, authentic materials, and thoughtful detailing create a welcoming retreat that feels intimate in scale while offering generous spaces for relaxation, entertaining, and weekends away.
